This dovetail is 1.5″ thick (twice as thick as the standard) and many times stiffer, yet weighs only 6 pounds.

The Losmandy-style dovetail that has become the standard for attaching Schmidt-Cassegrain optical tube assemblies to German equatorial mounts, was originally designed as an accessory mounting device, and was not intended to carry the full weight of a telescope the size of the C-14. With the advent of high-precision telescope mounts, automated pointing and unattended imaging, the time has come for an upgrade to your support system.

The primary benefit of a thicker, stiffer dovetail support bar is decreased vibration, which eases wind sensitivity and reduces telescope settling time after a pointing move. In addition, decreased deflection of the support bar improves pointing accuracy and reduces the effort required by auto-guiding systems. Not to mention, the spacecraft-like light-weighting and classic Farpoint fit, finish, and flair will make your rig the envy of your friends!

In the Box

Farpoint D Series Heavy Duty Dovetail Plate for Celestron C14

Warranty & Manuals

Farpoint 1-Year Warranty

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0652/6245/2965/files/farpoint-d-series-heavy-duty-dovetail-plate-for-celestron-c14-fdhdc14-astronomy-plus-1.webp?v=1690486110
https://istronomyplus.com/products/farpoint-d-series-heavy-duty-dovetail-plate-for-celestron-c14-fdhdc14
