The EclipSmart Universal Solar Filter is a must-have accessory perfect for viewing the Sun and eclipses like the upcoming 2023 Annular Solar Eclipse and 2024 Total Solar Eclipse. Affordable, easy to use, and best of all, Solar Safe, this filter conforms to the ISO 12312-2:2015(E) international safety standard. The EclipSmart Universal Solar Filter works with any optic or lens measuring 75 to 100 mm in diameter, including telescopes, spotting scopes, and DSLR camera lenses. The solar filter fits around your optical device with adjustable side panels that secure with a rubber band for a snug fit. We include (2) rubber bands, but we recommend that you change out the bands frequently. To replace use #32 rubber bands. When it’s not in use, fold the filter flat and place it inside the reusable bag.

If you plan to use this filter with your DSLR camera, we recommend adding a sunshade to the camera lens. This will expand the lens diameter and allow for a more secure attachment to the filter using the rubber bands. We also recommend using a tripod, monopod, or other stabilizing device with your camera setup. You can use your camera and filter intermittently over extended periods of up to several hours, but do not point your camera and filter directly at the Sun for more than three continuous minutes.

Never use this filter if your camera has an optical viewfinder. If you are uncertain about the type of viewfinder on your camera, do not use this filter. Always ensure that the filter is placed directly onto the camera lens during imaging, never between the viewfinder and your eye.

If you would like to use tape to secure the filter to your optic, Celestron recommends low-tack painter's tape to prevent any potential damage to your optic.

Technical Specifications

Weight:

1.5 oz (43 g)

Optical Range Fitment:

Outside diameter of 75mm to 100mm (2.95" to 3.93") of the objective housing

Compatible Celestron Products:

21039 PowerSeeker 50AZ
21041 PowerSeeker 60AZ
21087 PowerSeeker 80AZS
21043 PowerSeeker 60EQ
21037 PowerSeeker 70 EQ
21048 PowerSeeker 80EQ
21038 Travel Scope 50
22007 Travel Scope 60 DX
22005 National Park Foundation Travel Scope 60
21035 Travel Scope 70
22035 Travel Scope 70 DX
21135 Pop Sci Travel Scope 70
22030 Travel Scope 80
21073 AstroMaster LT 60 AZ
21061 AstroMaster 70 AZ
21074 AstroMaster LT 70 AZ
21062 AstroMaster 70 EQ
21082 AstroMaster 80 AZS
21182 Pop Sci AstroMaster 80 AZS
21064 AstroMaster 90 EQ
21063 AstroMaster 90 AZ
22201 Astro Fi 90mm Refractor
22451 StarSense Explorer LT 80 AZ
52304 Regal M2 16-48X 65mm ED Angled Zoom
52305 Regal M2 20-60X 80mm ED Angled Zoom
52248 Ultima 18-55X 65mm ED Angled Zoom
52348 Ultima 18-55X 65mm ED Angled Zoom w/smartphone Adapter
52250 Ultima 20-60X 80mm ED Angled Zoom
52254 Ultima 20-60X 80mm ED Straight Zoom
52350 Ultima 20-60X 80mm ED Angled Zoom w/smartphone adapter
52238 C70 Mini Mak
52422 LandScout 12-36X 60mm Angled Zoom w/tabletop tripod
52322 LandScout 12-36X 60mm Angled Zoom w/tabletop tripod and smartphone adapter
53329 Pop Sci LandScout 12-36X 60mm Angled Zoom w/tabletop tripod and smartphone adapter
52330 TrailSeeker 16-48X 65mm Angled Zoom
52332 TrailSeeker 20-60X 80mm Angled Zoom

Dimensions:

Folded: 241mm x 108mm x 6.35mm (9.5" x 4.24" x .25")
Assembled: 63.5mm x 114.3 x (2.5" x 4.5" x 4.0")
Package: 273mm x 127mm x 9.5mm (10.75" x 5" x .375")

Includes:

(1) EclipSmart Universal Folding Solar Filter
(2) #32 Rubber Bands
(1) Re-usable clear plastic locking bag

Solar Warning

Only observe the Sun with ISO-compliant eye protection, such as the filter found in this EclipSmart product.
